Like most of the small, independent restaurants in Gainesville, this is another hidden gem with outstanding service and food. We tried it in 2022 and recently; the authentic nature of the Mexican food and vibe were the same. This spot has become one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in Metro, only behind Superica Perimeter Mall. We usually get the enchiladas and fajitas with chips, salsa, and queso. I promise there is a difference from your everyday Tex/Mex, Frontera, On the Border and others. With that, if you have a taste for authentic Mexican food and premium service give El Campesino try; you will not be disappointed.

We had to wait for a little bit but we expected it because place is still new. Everyone was working As fast as they could and management was on top of everything. Service was great . Our server Maritza did a good job. Food was delicious. The steak on the fajitas where a little over cooked but overall experience, good and service was great. I will definitely be coming back.

Food is Great, they have a lot of variety’s to choose from 😋 but drinks are awesome!! Definitely recommend them 👌😋😋

I truly enjoy this place. The food is good and so are the people. Worth a visit. The waiters/waitresses are very kind and helpful if you ever have questions. The restaurant isn't very busy which I love. It's a cozy spot. Check it out!

Taco Tuesday is a real thing! Tonight I had an enormous bowl of fresh, chunky guacamole and tacos — $.99 for delicious, loaded tacos. Great service too.
