The workers here are outstanding! The food is just as amazing! A wide selection of food but they do have your favorites. Their chips and salsa are so good; the spicy salsa is top notch! Everything was fresh and popping hot.

Had a family lunch here on a Saturday. The staff was polite and helpful, the food prices were pretty good. We had a cheese dip with jalapeños, fajita burrito Texas style, and a burrito de la casa. Overall I felt like the chips and salsa were not anything special. The salsa seems more like tomato sauce? The cheese dip with jalapeños was not spicy at all, and didn’t have much of a taste. The fajita burrito Texas style was great! Loved it and would recommend it. Sadly, we didn’t get a burrito de la casa, but a burrito el grande instead. I’m not a huge fan of getting the wrong order, first time here so wasn’t sure until after I went back and checked the menu as we were leaving. The grande wasn’t our jam and didn’t eat much of it. We were charged for the burrito dr la casa however so thankful for that. Overall, it was an alright visit but I don’t think we’d come back for another family meal. I see a lot of high reviews for this place so I’m sure it’s a great place, perhaps just not for us.

We are Utah transplants. One thing that is a common saying where we are from is "This is the place!" Referring to when the settlers of Utah came upon the land for the first time. Well that is a saying we have adopted here in the South for El Rio. We have been here for almost 2 years and are pretty proud to call El Rio our Friday home. They have made some changes, opening up the layout and we are excited for the warm weather and the patio to open. Live music is provided, we are often given free shots when they are testing out new liquor which goes well with the larger than life Margaritas. The staff has always been friendly. My son is always happy to be there because his little girlfriend and aunt meet us there. We have met new friends there as well which is important when you are new to an area and have no existing family or friends. It's pretty rare to find a restaurant that doesn't treat children like they are a burden but El Rio and staff treat the kids like they own the place. It's pretty incredible. There is now a steady flow of regulars we see and as much as I would like (for selfish reasons) to keep El Rio our little secret, I just can't. The atmosphere, the people, the drinks, the food and the live music all make for a great end to the work week.

We may have caught them on a bad day. Tea had a bitter aftertaste. Chips were hard and slightly stale. The entire restaurant only had one server. He appeared to be over loaded. Food was served barely warm and our dishes were brought out at separate times. Cheese was thin and runny as if it had been watered down.
